Urban development in and around the Århusgade district began back in 2005, but the first residents did not move in until 2015. Ripple Residence is the final residential development in the Århusgade district, marking the conclusion of an extensive urban development process that has transformed the neighborhood into a thriving area in the heart of Nordhavn.

Today, more than 2,000 people live in the neighborhood, and although the Århusgade district is relatively new, it is already a well-established and attractive area. With a location close to the water, a well-developed infrastructure, and a wealth of cultural offerings, it has become a sought-after place to live. The Århusgade district is a wonderful combination of charming narrow streets and an urban vibe, where modern homes and amenities blend seamlessly with the area’s historic character.

A life closely connected to the water

No matter where you go in Nordhavn, you can feel the proximity to the water and its calming effect. On a sunny day, there’s a very special atmosphere in and around the harbor basin and the canals, inviting you to enjoy relaxing moments or water activities in your kayak or on a SUP board.

At the Sandkaj swimming area, you can take a refreshing dip in the summer or an ice-cold plunge in the winter. If you’d like to get active on the water, Nordhavn also offers a variety of clubs, including swimming clubs, water sports clubs, a winter swimming club, as well as rowing and kayaking clubs.

A new wooden pier with a wading area has recently been built at Stubkaj, which is ideal for children and winter swimming, while avid swimmers can find a 500-meter open-water swimming course along Kattegatvej in Nordhavn.

Surrounded by culture and experiences

Your new neighborhood is full of local cultural experiences and events worth exploring. Kulturhuset Nordhus is a creative hub that offers a wide range of events, from art exhibitions to concerts and workshops.

Visit 'Den Røde By' in the western part of the Århusgade district, which was once characterized by coal, red brick, and heavy industry. Today, the historic buildings have been transformed into an exciting neighborhood where restaurants, workshops, and commercial spaces are moving in. It’s definitely an exciting district to explore.

Tunnelfabrikken is also a project currently in development that will transform the large old industrial hall into a new cultural hub. The plan is to include art, workspaces, dining options, community gardens, and much more.

A neighborhood full of opportunities for exercise

Nordhavn is home to a wide range of active communities, and there are fitness facilities to suit every taste-both indoors and in the scenic surroundings. Konditaget Lüders is a popular outdoor fitness park located on the roof of a parking garage, where you’ll find everything from running tracks to TRX stations. In addition, there are triathlon and running groups that take advantage of the beautiful harbor surroundings for swimming, cycling, and running.

You can do functional training at Nordhavn Gym and other local fitness centers. Not far from Nordhavn is Fælledparken, where you can go for a long walk, play tennis, or take part in one of the many outdoor fitness activities offered in the park.

Transportation and Parking

Ripple Residence is well connected to the rest of Copenhagen, and there are a variety of transportation and parking options that make it easy to get around. Just 200 meters away is the M4 metro line, and from Nordhavn Station you can take five different S-train lines. Several buses also depart from the station.

You can purchase a parking permit to park in the area. The nearest parking is in the green parking garage, across the street from the Nordhavn Metro station.

Shop everything from groceries to designer goods

Everyday shopping is a breeze at one of the many nearby grocery stores. Meny is conveniently located right next to Ripple Residence, where Lagkagehuset also tempts visitors with warm baked goods and delicious pastries.

Nordhavn also offers a variety of shops where you can shop for Danish design at GUBI and Handvärk, or sustainable home decor and women’s clothing at The Aiayu Market. Pas Normal Studios and Cykelklub are particularly worth a visit, as they have their only Danish flagship stores in Nordhavn.
